A family name, in service of other families' futures.
The founders
James and Ruth Brown.
James and Ruth wanted to create a form of giving that was direct, private, and personal.
Rather than building another organization around fundraising and administration, they chose to fund students directly through programs their own communities had already built.
The Foundation therefore accepts no outside donations. Its sponsorships are funded privately, tracked individually, and carried through to graduation.

Organizations know how to fund themselves. Students often have no one.
We join programs that already work
Everything good on this website was built by communities before we arrived.
We verify everything and publish it

Cambodia sponsorships begin
The first Bunong Scholars are sponsored into university and vocational study in Phnom Penh.
